Acrylic on canvas by Trudy Meehan

Dancing is important, if you haven’t done it in a while make time, find someone to dance with, find music and find a way.  Dancing will make you happy and it will definitely make you laugh and feel more alive.

I recently wrote a few posts on the importance of crying…well, dancing is as important if not more important than crying. If you want to be creative, vibrant and alive you need to be able to cry AND you need to be able to dance.

There are no words that I can write to convince you of the power of dance only to suggest that you do it.  Below you will find a link to a video of my sisters dancing and having fun as an example of how to let go and be happy.  You will also find a link to Keaira LaShae’s tutorial on how to Booty Pop. If you don’t know what booty popping is just watch this tutorial and do it! Do it alone or with family or with friends, you will be falling around your floor with laughter and with agony from trying to use neglected muscle groups.

Creativity and finding your way in life, finding your wings, requires energy and being able to access your emotional world – dancing will help with all of this…good luck and happy booty popping! Oh yeah and a sense of humour is required also, especially if you see yourself in the mirror whilst trying to booty pop.
